M.S Fernando was the founding principal of this school which was started on 16/10/1971.  Minister of Health W .P.G. Mr. Ariyadasa also participated and the initial number of teachers in the school was 01. The initial number of students in this school is 18. Students were first admitted to the school on 21/10/1971. W.G. Dayananda was the first student to be admitted to the school that day.

1971/10/16 වන දින ආරම්භ කරන ලද මෙම පාසැලේ ආරම්භක විදුහල්පති ලෙස M.S ප්‍රනාන්දු මහතා කටයුතු කර ඇත. පාසල විවෘත කිරීමේ උත්සවයට සෞඛ්‍ය අමාත්‍ය W .P.G. ආරියදාස මහතා ද සහභගී වී ඇති අතර පාසලේ ආරම්භක ගුරු සංඛ්‍යාව 01 ක් විය. මෙම පාසලේ ආරම්භක ශිෂ්‍ය සංඛ්‍යාව 18 කි. 1971/10/21 දින පාසලට මුලින්ම සිසුන් ඇතුලත් කරගෙන ඇත. එදින පාසලට ඇතුලත් කළ මුල්ම ශිෂ්‍යයා වනුයේ W.G.දයානන්ද ය.
